This past year-or-so has seen a lot of musical output from Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, who had spent the past two-decades prior not really releasing a whole lot (one solo album and a live album, plus various live appearances). He and fellow Floyd bandmate Nick Mason released Pink Floyd’s final album, “The Endless River,” last November, and announced the end of the band shortly thereafter. He then announced a new solo album, “Rattle That Lock,” that will be released in September. This is probably the busiest he has been since the 1970s.
Now with his cover story for MOJO Magazine coming out Aug. 25, a cover of The Beatles’ “Here, There and Everywhere” Gilmour had recorded will be included on the CD that the magazine offers with each issue (if you haven’t read MOJO and are a music fan, I highly recommend you check it out). It sounds fantastic. The Beatles’ version appeared on their 1966 classic, “Revolver.”
