It feels like it was only yesterday when the Internet suffered a nervous breakdown when it was announced that Ben Affleck would be the next actor to don Batman’s cowl after Christian Bale hung his up following the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy. “Bat-fleck, gross!” Nerds screamed across the dark abyss that is known as the Internet, where people post anonymously about how they would run a multi-billion dollar franchise. “He will ruin the character forever!” Man, those where the days, huh.
Now here we are, almost a month away from the release of “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” and it seems the doubters are now more or less on board with this take on the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel. Frankly, it is surprising that this will be the first time in the age of huge blockbusters that these two iconic super heroes have shared the screen. And not only that, we have Wonder Woman in it as well. It certainly seems like Warner Bros. is adopting the old “go big or go home” mentality with this big chapter in the new DC Cinematic Universe. I am certainly thrilled to see this.
“Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” opens March 25.
