Monday marked the 50th anniversary of the classic Beach Boys album, “Pet Sounds.” An album so influential and with an amazing staying power, it is still considered one of the top rock albums ever created and continues to top lists of that nature in either the No. 1 or the No. 2 spot.
“Pet Sounds” remains an musical masterpiece. The intricate production Brian Wilson slaved over, to a near possessed level, shaping each song into becoming a world upon itself, still amazes listeners. It was an album that proved to be so hard to follow-up, that Wilson dumped his next project after it, “Smile,” for decades.
So ThrillShowX over at YouTube decided to take such a lush, emotionally filled album of pure artistry and made it sound like the soundtrack to “Super Mario Bros.” And it is really fun to listen to. Check it out.
