There’s been an awakening in poking fun of B-movies. Have you felt it?
Yes, yes we have. As the return of Mystery Science Theater 3000 is pulling at my nerdy heartstrings, we now know that Felicia Day is the new Mad, Kinga Forrester, and Patton Oswalt will play her henchman, TV’s Son of TV’s Frank (I like the idea of the original Mads’ offspring tormenting the new crew). We also have the new voices for the bots, Hampton Yount as Crow T. Robot and Baron Vaughn (whom I’ve enjoyed on his podcast with Leonard Maltin) as Tom Servo.
Now, through the power of Funny Or Die, we see the new bots in action outside of the Kickstarter campaign, as they audition for roles in the new “Star Wars” film, “The Force Awakens.” From what I’ve seen in this and the videos from the Kickstarter campaign, I feel the reboot will be pretty damn good. Also, I want to take a look at Crow’s script he brings up in this video, “Earth Vs. Soup.”
